Ulrike Schaede
Professor at University of California San Diego/Director of the Japan Forum for Innovation and Technology
Ulrike Schaede, Ph.D., is a Professor of Japanese Business at the University of California. She is the Director of JFIT. She organizes “Japan Zoominar” on current issues on Japanese business, politics, and society. She works on corporate strategy and management in Japan, incl. business culture and manufacturing and innovation under the DX.
She authored The Business Reinvention of Japan: How to Make Sense of the New Japan (Stanford University Press, 2020), which won the 2021 Masayoshi Ohira Memorial Prize and has been translated into Japanese as 再興 THE KAISHA:日本のビジネス・リインベンション (Nikkei 2022).

Kengo Kuma
Architect
Kengo Kuma was born in 1954. He established Kengo Kuma & Associates in 1990. He is currently a University Professor and Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo after teaching at Keio University and the University of Tokyo. KKAA projects are currently underway in more than 30 countries. Kengo Kuma proposes architecture that opens up new relationships between nature, technology, and human beings. His major publications include Ten Sen Men (“point, line, plane”, Iwanami Shoten), Hito no Sumika (“shelters for people”, Shincho Shinsho), Makeru Kenchiku (Architecture of Defeat, Iwanami Shoten), Shizen na Kenchiku (Natural Architecture, Iwanami Shinsho), Chii-sana Kenchiku (Small Architecture, Iwanami Shinsho) and many others.

Akiko Naka is founder and chief executive officer of Wantedly. Following its official launch in February 2012, Wantedly grew to 3mil users and 40,000 corporates, and has become the leading professional social-networking service in Japan. Prior to founding Wantedly, Ms Naka was a growth co-ordinator at Facebook Japan, where she contributed to marketing and product development for Facebook in Japan. Before joining Facebook, she worked at Goldman Sachs in equity sales. Ms Naka graduated from Kyoto University in 2008 with a BA in economics.

Challenergy's story began with the 2011 Great East Japan earthquake and the nuclear power plant accident. As an engineer, I decided to challenge the energy shift. It is our responsibility to show the next generation the path to a sustainable society. If we look at the world, about 1.3 billion people, mainly in emerging countries, are still living without electricity. The key to solving these two problems is the innovation of wind turbines. We believe our brand new vertical axis wind turbine can contribute to the energy shift.

Ankit Kumar is the Co-Founder & CEO of Skye Air, India’s lleading SaaS based drone delivery company enabling first mile and last mile delivery for major ecommerce, quick commerce and healthcare players. He has been instrumental in enabling just in time delivery via drones and several Industry firsts in the drone segement. Under his leadership, the firm also completed 104 Kms BVLOS drone delivering medicines to far reach areas, also setting the World Record in the category.
Also, He is an angel investor with four portfolio businesses in the EV, drone, Edtech, and IoT industries.

Arnaud Ngatcha
Deputy Mayor of Paris (in charge of International relations and Europe)
Arnaud Ngatcha is an audiovisual, media and cultural professional. His interest in international affairs, gender diversity, and integration is longstanding. He is also very active in fighting discrimination.
After completing his degree, he joined the private TV channel Canal+ as a journalist for the daily program ""La Grande Famille"". He pursued his professional career in journalism at the French newspaper Figaro and then at the Public TV channel France 2. He also directed documentaries on social and political issues: “the first Nuit Blanche created by the Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë”; two documentaries for the series ""Un maire, une ville"" (A Mayor, A City). The first one on François Baroin in Troyes, in collaboration with the Figaro's political journalist Anne Fulda (2003). The second one on Jean-Marc Ayrault in Nantes in collaboration with Catherine Pégard, then editor-in-chief of the political department of the weekly newspaper Le Point' (2006).
Active in promoting social and community equity, he directed the documentary entitled “Noirs, l'identité au cœur de la question noire” (Blacks, at the heart of blackness identity) on slavery, colonization and the representation of black people in French society nowadays.

Ayano Kagami
Community Development Lead at CIC Japan
Ayano comes to CIC with passion to develop a biotech/healthcare startup ecosystem in Japan. She received Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Tokyo before joining the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). At MEXT, she worked on policy making in the life science field and medicine and was assigned to design the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED). In 2017, she started to study at MIT’s system design and management program and researched about the difference of startup ecosystems especially in the life science field between Cambridge/Boston and several cities in the U.S. and Japan. After returning to Japan, she worked on the science, technology and innovation policy at the Cabinet Office and on the research and on the research and development project for the nuclear fusion field until she joined CIC Japan in 2021.

Anis Uzzaman, Ph.D. is the Founder and CEO of Pegasus Tech Ventures. With US$2 billion under Pegasus Tech Ventures’ management, Anis is responsible for overall global investments and operations of the firm. Anis also serves as the Chairman of Startup World Cup, a global platform that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship around the world.
Anis holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Tokyo, Japan, a Master of Science in Engineering from Oklahoma State University in the USA, and a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Tokyo Metropolitan University in Tokyo, Japan.
Anis is a Forbes Finance Council member and contributor at Forbes. Anis is also a contributing editor at Inc. Magazine, and an Entrepreneur Leadership Network Contributor at the Entrepreneur Magazine. Anis is an honored guest speaker in international conferences, workshops and seminars, has published more than 30 technical papers, and is the author of several books published globally.
